Leverage Shares launches 2x Long/Short SpaceX ETFs (SPCH/SSPC) — $500M+ day-one, biggest new-ETF debut since IBIT

What happened

Leverage Shares by Themes (Themes ETF Trust) launched the first 2x single-stock SpaceX ETFs on Cboe, June 16, 2026 — days after SpaceX's June 12 IPO (underlying ticker SPCX):

  • $SPCH — Leverage Shares 2X Long SPCX Daily ETF (+200% of SpaceX's daily move).
  • $SSPC — Leverage Shares 2X Short SPCX Daily ETF (−200% of SpaceX's daily move).

Both carry a 0.75% expense ratio (low-cost vs peers) and are explicitly "designed for sophisticated investors and active traders… not intended as buy-and-hold." Day-one combined volume topped $500M (SPCH ~$282M, SSPC ~$219M); per Bloomberg Intelligence, SPCH's first-day volume was the largest for a new ETF since IBIT (the spot-Bitcoin ETF).

Competing 2x SpaceX wrappers also exist (ProShares $SPCF Ultra SpaceX, Direxion $LOFF SpaceX Bull 2X) — the space is already crowded; Leverage Shares is the low-fee entrant.

Why it matters

  • spacex-ipo-liquidity-event: the near-instant arrival of leveraged single-stock wrappers — and IBIT-scale day-one volume — is a direct retail-demand / speculative-intensity readout on the SpaceX IPO. This is the ETF-plumbing layer of the mega-IPO supercycle, not a thesis shift.
  • Ticker-identity note: SPCH / SSPC / SPCX are tagged here for event provenance only; leveraged daily ETFs are decay-prone and not trend-hold instruments — keep them out of watchlist/trade rows unless explicitly authorized.
