Update

Coverage gap closure: STM, MRAAY, AIXA.DE, VECO added to ai-power.json

  • Type: refresh (subtype: coverage-audit)
  • event_id: 2026-05-06-ai-power-delivery-coverage-closure
  • Source: internal coverage check during STE reconciliation triage — discovered four key_tickers from this perspective were not covered by any watchlist (no OHLC fetched, no precompute, no scan visibility). One of the four (MRAAY) was self-flagged as a known coverage hole in this README on 2026-05-03 (Coverage gap: MLCC (MRAAY, Samsung Electro-Mechanics) is a likely coverage hole worth surfacing in the next coverage-audit run) but never closed. Two others (AIXG, VEEC) were non-existent ticker symbols on Yahoo Finance (typos / wrong ADR series), so even an attempted fetch would have silently failed.
  • Shift: Watchlist ai-power.json extended from 34 → 38 symbols. Perspective key_tickers corrected: AIXG → AIXA.DE, VEEC → VECO. STM and MRAAY added unchanged.
  • Per-ticker:
    • STM (STMicroelectronics) — major SiC/GaN power-semi player, parallel to IFNNY in the EV-AI supply-chain crossover thesis. Originally listed but not in any watchlist; data fetched 2026-05-06.
    • MRAAY (Murata Manufacturing ADR) — MLCC capacity allocation; GB300 uses ~30,000 MLCCs vs 13-15× a traditional server. The README explicitly framed this as a coverage hole. Closed.
    • AIXA.DE (AIXTRON SE Frankfurt primary) — MOCVD systems for compound semiconductors, the equipment layer one above the SiC/GaN device makers. The original AIXG symbol does not exist on Yahoo (AIXAY also fails); AIXA.DE is the working primary. Following the workspace's existing .DE / .PA / .TO convention (LPK.DE, ALRIB.PA, ATH.TO).
    • VECO (Veeco Instruments) — deposition + lithography systems for compound semis and BSPDN-adjacent processes. The original VEEC symbol was a typo; correct symbol is VECO (NASDAQ).
  • Effect on thesis: No thesis shift — this is bookkeeping, not new information. But it tightens the loop between perspective documents and the data plane: ai-power-delivery's scan visibility now actually matches its written scope. Future precompute / scan / paper-trade logic will see all 20 names referenced in the perspective, not just 16. Generalizable lesson — when a perspective README explicitly flags a "Coverage gap," the next coverage-audit (or any methodology pass that touches the perspective) should close it; otherwise the gap persists invisibly across full-scans because the missing names never enter the watchlist tape.
  • Methodology bug class: "perspective writes a key_tickers list that includes hallucinated / typo / non-existent tickers, the names look plausible in the JSON but never resolve to real OHLC, and no validation step catches it." Same shape as the AG/GLP/GMP/CDMO research-picks hallucinations from 2026-05-05, just on the perspective side instead of the picks-and-shovels side. Worth a future task: validate perspective key_tickers against validateTickers() (already exists in emit) at write time or during verify-perspective-paradigms.
