EV / Clean Energy Scan — August 14, 2026 Close
EV / Clean Energy Scan — August 14, 2026 Close
Much of last scan's relief rally reversed — FSLR round-tripped hard (RSI 64.1→49.0, 7-day change +18.49%→-9.79%, 30-day change +11.48%→+0.78%) and TE cooled sharply after posting the board's largest weekly move last scan (7-day change +40.29%→-12.65%), while SEDG remains the board's weakest name and deteriorated further (30-day change -39.4%→-40.6%). TSLA continued clearing the oversold line (RSI 41.5→48.7) though its 30-day change is still deeply negative at -13.23%, and the core EV-maker complex (LI, NIO, XPEV, RIVN) broadly weakened, several flipping their monthly windows negative for the first time in this stretch. The oversold cohort widened back out from just SEDG to three names (SEDG, NIO, XPEV).

Quick Snapshot
| Signal | Reading |
|---|---|
| Overall | 🟡 A partial reversal of last scan's broad relief rally — the two names that led the bounce (FSLR, TE) round-tripped hard and the EV-maker complex broadly weakened, while the smaller golden-cross industrial names (ALB, LIT, PLUG, SQM, DRIV, ENS) mostly held or extended further. |
| Key insight | The oversold cohort widened again — from SEDG alone last scan to SEDG, NIO, and XPEV now — a partial reversal of the near-total unwind flagged two scans ago (12 of 22 names oversold, down to 1, now back up to 3). |
What's Going On
TSLA continued its recovery out of oversold: RSI climbed from 41.5 to 48.7, price from $328.58 to $342.27, and the 30-day change improved from -16.62% to -13.23% — still deeply negative, and the engine's own regime read stays tagged "collapse" even as the RSI clears the halfway mark.
FSLR gave back nearly all of last scan's reversal. Its RSI fell from 64.1 to 49.0, price dropped from $250.05 to $225.56, and the week flipped from +18.49% to -9.79% — the 30-day change nearly erased, down to +0.78% from +11.48%.
TE cooled sharply after posting the board's largest move last scan. RSI eased from 48.9 to 44.5, the week flipped from +40.29% to -12.65%, and the 30-day change worsened again to -23.27% from -20.41% — a partial round-trip of the sharpest single-name move in the group.
SEDG remains the board's weakest structure. Its RSI ticked up slightly (32.9→34.8) but the 30-day change deepened further, from -39.4% to -40.6% — the only name still deteriorating on a monthly basis for a third straight scan.
The EV-maker complex broadly weakened. LI's 30-day change flipped negative (RSI 50.3→40.2, 30-day change +6.85%→-3.69%); NIO's RSI fell from 46.0 to 39.2 with its 30-day change worsening to -10.14% from -3.27%; XPEV dropped from RSI 40.3 to 36.4 (30-day change -8.59%→-15.09%); RIVN's 30-day change worsened to -13.71% from -3.96%. LCID and BYDDY both cooled on the week (LCID 7-day change -4.61%→-11.65%; BYDDY -3.44%→-2.17%) though both stayed positive on the month.
Away from the EV makers, the smaller golden-cross industrial names mostly held or extended. ALB's RSI climbed from 56.4 to 62.2 (30-day change +1.34%→+9.15%), LIT rose from 56.3 to 59.1, and PLUG, SQM, and DRIV all flipped their 30-day windows positive for the first time in this stretch, even as the engine's own regime tag on PLUG still reads "collapse." ENS and BE both improved (ENS 30-day change -3.99%→+0.56%; BE -13.74%→-3.94%).

How To Read The Board
Golden-cross names (RIVN, BE, ENPH, SEDG, FSLR, LIT, DRIV, TAN, ICLN, NXT, ENS, TE) mean the 50-day average sits above the 200-day — SEDG's continued deterioration is happening inside a technically golden-crossed structure, the same case flagged last scan where the cross label can mislead if read alone, and FSLR's round-trip this scan is a reminder that a golden cross doesn't prevent a sharp reversal either. Death-cross names (TSLA, BYDDY, LI, NIO, XPEV, LCID, PLUG, ALB, SQM, KARS) are largely the EV-maker and lithium/materials cohort — LI, NIO, XPEV, and RIVN's broad weakening this scan sits inside that group, while ALB and SQM (also death-crossed) moved the opposite direction, both extending further. TSLA continues to carry the engine's "intact" thesis flag through its stabilization.
