EV & Clean Energy Scan — 2026-04-14
The most bifurcated scan in the system. Energy storage (BE, ENS) is parabolic. Lithium/EV ETFs (LIT, DRIV, KARS) in monster-scan territory. Meanwhile LCID is -72% from peak, ENPH just had a -32% month, XPEV is -38% from highs. Two completely different tapes existing simultaneously. The Hormuz blockade is rocket fuel for domestic clean energy narratives.
| Signal | Reading |
|---|---|
| Overall | 🟢 Bifurcated bullish — energy storage + lithium ETFs ripping on Hormuz energy security thesis; solar + legacy EV losers continue to bleed |
| Key insight | BE is up +939% in 1 year. ENS golden cross + +137% 1Y. LIT at 52-week highs. ENPH just dropped -31.6% in 30 days on no fundamental change. This is a sector rotation, not a sector collapse. |

Tier Analysis
Tier 1 — The Monster Scan candidates (parabolic)
- BE ($176.67, RSI 63.7): +939% in 1 year. +77.5% above SMA200. Golden cross. -2.3% from 52wk high. Bloom Energy = domestic energy storage infrastructure play. The Hormuz blockade narrative is turbocharging this thesis. Overbought by any traditional metric, but this is a momentum name in a theme. Trailing stop only.
- ENS ($194.61, RSI 71.2): EnerSys — industrial battery storage. At 52-week highs, +45.1% above SMA200, RSI 71.2 approaching overbought. +137% 1Y return. Quieter than BE but same energy storage thesis. RSI 71 — don't add here, let it breathe.
Tier 2 — Lithium/EV ETF trio (the clean trade)
- LIT ($80.02, RSI 69.8): At 52-week highs. +33.8% above SMA200. Lithium ETF = direct Hormuz/energy security play. RSI 69.8 is extended — but a 90-day hold with trailing stop makes sense here.
- DRIV ($33.62, RSI 67.4): At 52-week highs. EV + autonomous driving basket. The diversity buffers individual EV risk. Golden cross, +16.5% above SMA200.
- KARS ($34.39, RSI 66.0): At 52-week highs. Global EV ETF. Less US-centric than DRIV. +16.5% above SMA200. Golden cross.
Tier 3 — Chinese EV catching bid
- NIO ($6.47, RSI 62.4): +41.9% in 3 months — the best 3M performer in the scan. Death cross but price is +16.8% above SMA200. China policy tailwinds + tariff recalibration narrative. High risk, high reward. Not a core position.
- BYDDY ($14.01, RSI 60.7): BYD — the actual market share winner in global EV. +13% in 3M. +4.5% above SMA200. Death cross is the concern. Playing through KARS ETF is cleaner.
Tier 4 — Approaching oversold (watch)
- ENPH ($31.37, RSI 32.4): -31.6% in 30 days. RSI approaching 30. Golden cross intact — this is a pullback in a structurally improving name, not a breakdown. The solar ITC and domestic manufacturing angle is intact. RSI 32 is close to actionable.
- TSLA ($352.42, RSI 39.2): Death cross, -11.3% below SMA200. -10.9% in 30D. The Musk/DOGE political risk adds an idiosyncratic overhang that isn't in any competitor. RSI approaching 40 — wait for 35.
Tier 5 — Avoid
