AI Scan
AI Scan
This was the whiplash week showing up cleanly in the data: memory (STX, WDC) and the AI-power cluster (BE) both flipped from double-digit weekly losses to positive weeks, cloud hyperscalers staged a violent repricing (AMZN and MSFT both gapped sharply higher, META kept breaking down), and the scan's oversold cohort shrank from 27 names to 13 as legacy SaaS, security, and quantum/speculative names all recovered together. 66 of 67 tickers carry a fresh 2026-07-31 close; one new addition, SKHY, enters the scan with limited trading history (ai-scan).
FROTH READ: vs VWAP is the key signal — names far above VWAP are extended relative to their average buyer's cost basis.
Quick Snapshot
| Signal | Reading |
|---|---|
| Overall | 🟢 Broad recovery — the oversold cohort nearly halved, memory and AI-power both flipped from crashing to positive weeks, while cloud hyperscalers repriced sharply (AMZN, MSFT up; META down) |
| Biggest single event | AMZN — +15.32% in a single session, RSI jumping from 36.3 to 67.7, the sharpest reversal in the scan |
| Deepest ongoing damage | QCOM — RSI fell to 29.3, the scan's lowest read, decline accelerating (7D -11.59%, 30D -18.86%) |
| Sharpest positive reversal | Memory/AI-power: STX (7D -16.21%→+0.52%), WDC (7D -15.48%→+4.82%), BE (7D -26.26%→+11.31%) |
| Data caveat | SKHY is a new addition to this scan with insufficient trading history for trend/SMA classification |
What's Going On
Memory and the AI-power cluster both round-tripped their prior declines into positive weeks. STX's 7-day change flipped from -16.21% to +0.52% and WDC's from -15.48% to +4.82%, both RSI climbing back over 50 — a sharp reversal off the round-trip lower flagged last cycle. MU lagged the other two, still down -10.63% on the week though its RSI improved to 43.8. BE, which had posted back-to-back double-digit single-day crashes, flipped to a +11.31% week (RSI 33.3→44.6) — the clearest single-name reversal in the AI-power group. CEG and VST, however, stayed negative on the week (CEG 7D -4.23%, VST 7D -9.3%), showing the reversal wasn't universal across that cluster.
Cloud hyperscalers staged the most dramatic single-name moves in the whole scan. AMZN jumped +15.32% in one session, its RSI vaulting from 36.3 to 67.7 and its 7-day change to +17.0% — the sharpest reversal on this board. MSFT extended further into overbought (RSI 51.5→74.6, 7D +21.75%) and GOOGL climbed out of its prior weakness (42.1→54.1, 7D +11.38%). META moved the opposite direction — its RSI fell from 43.0 to 37.9, still death-crossed, still in a downtrend regime, its 30-day drawdown deepening to -9.17%. TSLA ticked up off capitulation-adjacent territory (27.4→31.9) but its 30-day change worsened further to -26.83%.
The semis complex broadly recovered, with one clear exception. NVDA's RSI climbed back to 48.6, AMD's to 45.3 (still down -8.77% on the week but improved from -16.5%), TSM's to 46.2, and ASML's to 42.8 — all clawing back from the sharp cracks flagged last cycle. MRVL and ARM both improved modestly (34.3→41.6 and 35.9→37.5) though their 30-day drawdowns remain the deepest in the group (-31.04% and -28.97%). QCOM is the exception: its RSI fell further to 29.3 — the lowest read anywhere in this scan — with its 7-day change deepening to -11.59% and 30-day to -18.86%, deterioration accelerating rather than reversing.
Legacy SaaS, security, and quantum/speculative AI all extended their prior recoveries rather than giving them back. WDAY's RSI climbed to 61.9 (7D +18.47%), CRM to 59.7, and PATH to 62.3, all still death-crossed but with 30-day changes staying strongly positive. PANW, CRWD, and FTNT all improved further in AI security (RSI 54.9, 54.7, 60.6 respectively). RGTI, QBTS, BBAI, and IONQ all posted RSI gains in the quantum/speculative bucket, with BBAI climbing furthest off near-capitulation (30.0→36.7). Telecom moved the other way: T and VZ both cooled sharply out of overbought (72.4→55.3 and 70.6→59.8) after last cycle's extension, while SKM posted another double-digit negative week (7D -11.33%) on top of the prior cycle's single-day crash.
What Changed Since the 2026-07-28 Scan
- The oversold (RSI < 40) cohort nearly halved: 27 names last cycle down to 13 this cycle, now concentrated in QCOM, RUN, TSLA, EOSE, BBAI, OKLO, SEDG, TAC, ARM, TEM, META, ENPH, and ISRG.
- AMZN posted the single sharpest reversal in the scan: RSI 36.3→67.7, change1d +15.32%, 7D -6.74%→+17.0%.
- MSFT extended further into overbought: RSI 51.5→74.6, 7D -1.11%→+21.75%, 30D +6.72%→+20.93%.
- META kept breaking down: RSI 43.0→37.9, 30D +5.48%→-9.17%, still death-crossed and now in a downtrend regime.
- STX and WDC both flipped from double-digit losing weeks to positive weeks: STX 7D -16.21%→+0.52%; WDC 7D -15.48%→+4.82%.
- BE reversed from a second straight double-digit crash to a double-digit positive week: RSI 33.3→44.6, 7D -26.26%→+11.31%.
- QCOM deteriorated further, now the scan's lowest RSI: RSI 36.5→29.3, 7D -6.12%→-11.59%, 30D -13.69%→-18.86%.
- The semis complex broadly recovered: NVDA RSI 43.0→48.6; TSM 39.0→46.2; ASML 37.1→42.8; AMD 39.4→45.3.
- MRVL and ARM both improved modestly after resuming deterioration last cycle: MRVL RSI 34.3→41.6 (30D -37.17%→-31.04%); ARM 35.9→37.5 (30D roughly flat at -28.97%).
- T and VZ both cooled sharply out of overbought: T RSI 72.4→55.3 (7D +10.78%→-3.65%); VZ 70.6→59.8.
- SKM posted another double-digit negative week: 7D -3.82%→-11.33%, on top of last cycle's single-day crash.
- CEG and VST both stayed negative on the week, unlike the rest of the AI-power cluster: CEG 7D -0.92%→-4.23%; VST 7D -8.43%→-9.3%.
- SOUN's data is fresh again after last cycle's stale flag, now reading RSI 42.5, roughly flat on the week.
- SKHY entered the scan with no SMA/trend classification yet (too-young regime) — insufficient trading history for a clean read.

Tier Analysis
Capitulation (RSI < 25)
None strictly under 25.
Oversold (RSI < 40)
QCOM (29.3), RUN (30.7), TSLA (31.9), EOSE (33.4), BBAI (36.7), OKLO (36.5), SEDG (37.0), TAC (37.2), ARM (37.5), TEM (37.6), META (37.9), ENPH (39.4), ISRG (39.9) — 13 names, down sharply from 27 last cycle. QCOM is the new addition to this band and now the lowest RSI in the whole scan; most of the rest carry real structural damage (death-crossed or collapse/downtrend regime) rather than a clean dip-buy setup.
Neutral-Strong (RSI 40+)
The remaining 54 names, led by MSFT (74.6, overbought), SNOW (69.8), AMZN (67.7), PATH (62.3), and VEEV (62.1).

What To Watch Next
- Whether STX/WDC's sharp reversal off the round-trip decline holds, or the pattern round-trips again — and whether MU catches up or stays the laggard.
- Whether BE's flip from crash to +11.31% week is a durable reversal or another leg in an unusually volatile chart, and why CEG/VST didn't join it.
- Whether AMZN and MSFT's sharp repricing (both up double digits) is a durable re-rate or exhausts, especially with MSFT now in outright overbought territory.
- Whether META's continued breakdown (RSI 37.9, still death-crossed) stabilizes or extends further while its cloud hyperscaler peers recover.
- Whether QCOM's accelerating decline (now the lowest RSI in the scan) marks capitulation or has further to fall.
- Whether SKM's second consecutive double-digit-scale negative move signals a real deterioration or another one-off dislocation.
