Food Security Scan
Food Security Scan
This is the one book of the cycle that didn't join the broader repair story — CF and ADM both lost their uptrend tags, FMC slid back into collapse after just one cycle of repair, and NTR's RSI fell from 64.4 to 40.5 as its trend flipped from strong-up to strong-down. DE is the exception, upgrading from basing to uptrend as its distance from its 52-week high tightened further to -9.22%. Two agriculture ETFs, DBA and MOO, joined the watchlist this cycle and print their first read here.
Data as-of the 2026-08-07 close for all ten names in the book — no staleness this cycle. Prior scan: 2026-07-31-food-security (data as-of the 2026-07-31 close; covered the eight-name book before DBA and MOO were added). Sourced from Revan's Food Security Trade conviction doc; child thesis of the Iran War perspective.

| Overall | 🟡 A mixed cycle, the outlier against a broadly recovering tape elsewhere — three regime downgrades against one upgrade |

What's Going On
Where the rest of this week's scans mostly repaired, food security cooled or reversed on several names. NTR posted the sharpest reversal in the book: its trend flipped from strong-up to strong-down, RSI falling from 64.4 to 40.5 and its 7-day return turning negative at -6.73%, though its 30-day return is still holding near flat at -3.51% and its thesis stays rated intact — the move is too fresh to call a trend break, and no corpus source explains the driver. CF lost its uptrend tag, downgrading to pullback as RSI eased to 42.5 from 59.5 and its 30-day return flipped negative to -2.28% from +15.75%, thesis still rated intact. ADM also downgraded, from uptrend to pullback, extending what had already been flagged as a fourth straight cycle of cooling from a 73.5 RSI peak — this is now a fifth cycle, RSI down to 36.7. FMC is the clearest reversal: after repairing from collapse to downtrend last cycle, it slid back into collapse this time, RSI easing to 45.0 from 54.4 and its 30-day return turning negative again at -3.2% from +2.87%. Against that, DE is the one name that improved structurally, its regime lifting from basing to uptrend as RSI climbed to 55.8 and its distance from its 52-week high tightened further to -9.22% from -11.08%, continuing the tightening move flagged two cycles back before last cycle's setback. MOS held its downtrend regime for what is now a fifth straight cycle, though its RSI improved to 55.0 from 48.9 and its 30-day return climbed to +11.67% from +3.85% — real price improvement the label still hasn't caught up to. BG's RSI rose to 40.8 from 34.7 even as its 30-day return worsened to -5.94% from +1.28%. CTVA held pullback for a second cycle since its downgrade from uptrend, RSI roughly flat at 35.5 and its 30-day loss widening slightly to -9.8% from -5.78%. DBA and MOO, both agriculture-sector ETFs, joined the watchlist this cycle: DBA prints RSI 50.6 in a basing regime, -4.2% from its 52-week high, and MOO prints RSI 46.5, also basing, -6.17% from its 52-week high — both are first appearances in this book, with no prior cycle to compare against.

How To Read The Board
Regime labels describe chart structure, not a buy/sell call. Three downgrades (CF, ADM, FMC) against one upgrade (DE) makes this the one book this cycle where the tape cooled rather than repaired — worth noting given every other book scanned this cycle saw broad structural improvement. FMC losing its downtrend tag and sliding back into collapse after just one cycle out is the sharpest single reversal — a repair that didn't hold. NTR's RSI drop from 64.4 to 40.5 is large enough to flag on its own, but its 30-day return is still roughly flat and its thesis stays rated intact, so this reads as a sharp cooldown rather than a confirmed reversal; the driver is not established in the corpus. DE's continued tightening toward its 52-week high, now resuming after last cycle's pause, remains the clearest strength story in the book.
