Earnings landed from $PDD, $XPEV. Next up on the print calendar: NVDA, CRM, CRWD, MRVL. The sweep kept 5 picks this week, led by China needs U.S. dollars but is building a hedge against Washington's sanctions. 16 receipt-backed reads on the wire (10 new) — top of the stack: $RR: 8-K filed 2026-08-25 and the tape noticed - 3.5x average volume on a +21.6% day.

Wednesday was a session that looked flat and wasn't. The S&P finished essentially unchanged and volatility stayed asleep at 15.2, but underneath it the market moved money with intent: bond yields climbed as the day's inflation data kept Fed hike bets alive, and the rotation ran into copper, crypto and hard assets. The gold-to-silver ratio flipped to a reflation reading. Participation actually broadened — more names took part than in recent sessions — even as the S&P, the Nasdaq 100 and the Russell 2000 all closed below their own 20-day averages. Broadening breadth under sagging cap-weighted indices is not a rally. It is money leaving the front of the boat.

Where it went is the day's real story, and it splits the AI trade in half. The physical build — power distribution, power supplies, semiconductor fab construction — rose about 2.5%. The companies that rent out compute fell as a group: every tracked neocloud closed red, down 2.0% on the day and 3.7% on the week, with every member of the cohort now sitting between 29% and 53% below its own 52-week high. Same theme, opposite direction. Whoever is selling GPU-rental equities is not selling the electricity and steel that house them, and a week-old check of physical GPU rental pricing found no confirmed glut behind the move — which makes this look like positioning rather than a break in demand.

The prints sharpened the point. Abercrombie & Fitch beat by $2.18 a share and raised full-year guidance to $13.10–$13.60 against a $10.40 consensus; the stock closed at $147.75, up 35.7% on sixteen times normal volume. Photronics beat on both lines with a record 44% high-end mix and added 3.2%. And then Dycom raised its full-year revenue outlook — to a range that merely matched what analysts already expected — and fell 11.6% on five times volume, its relative strength collapsing to 25. Nothing in the day's coverage explains that drop; the cause is not established. CrowdStrike slid 7% on forecasts that missed steep expectations. The lesson is not subtle: this tape is marking companies against expectations, not against last year, and a raise that only meets the bar is being treated as a miss.

That is the frame for tonight. Nvidia reported after the close — coverage describes a second-quarter beat with guidance above estimates, though no figures are confirmed yet and the market reaction is not in Wednesday's tape. It went into the print at $209.66, sitting almost exactly on the level the desk has been watching. Dycom is the cautionary case worth carrying into it. Elsewhere the weakness list is doing honest work: Walmart is 22.8% off its high and 12% below its 200-day with the long trend genuinely under test, and Nike, down 50.9% over the year, is not a pullback but a confirmed multi-year breakdown. IREN belongs in a different bucket — down 48.5% from its high yet still up 72.2% on the year, testing its 200-day, and reporting Thursday after the close. That print reads on the entire compute-rental group, not one ticker.
