The AI Trade Sold as One; Oil and Staples Took the Money

    Evidence as of 2026-10-16

Records Vicor's 12.9% fall on October 16 against a 3.6% median decline in its AI power peer group (5 of 55 up) on a broad risk-off day. No news item, scheduled company event or filing on record explains the move, so the cause is unknown. A price move is not one of this case's failure conditions; the October 20 report remains the test.

Monolithic Power's AI Power Demand Faces a Valuation Test

    Evidence as of 2026-09-28

Refreshes the already-linked Monolithic Power quarter with filed detail rather than a new period: June-quarter revenue $980.6M (+47.6% year over year), Enterprise Data up 164% to $380.6M, operating margin 31.0%, and a third-quarter guide of $1.14–1.16B. It carries the case's margin leg forward but the guide is a plan, not a result; the report scheduled for October 29 decides whether the conversion holds at that scale. A tax-accounting material weakness unremediated at June 30 is a reporting caveat, not a socket test.

Navitas' AI Power Option Still Needs Commercial Revenue

    Evidence as of 2026-09-28

Navitas remains the unconverted leg. June-quarter revenue was $10.5M, down 27.3% year over year, with high-power revenue up more than 50% and a third-quarter guide of $13.0–14.0M; first-half operating cash flow was -$48.3M. The September 28 Army ALATTIS selection is a technical prototype with no disclosed award value or production order. No design has been removed, so neither failure condition is met, but the case's own scope rules out assuming every supplier wins; Navitas does not yet count toward conversion.

Vicor's Raised Guide Turns a License Win Into a Revenue Test

    Evidence as of 2026-09-28

The clearest supplier-specific conversion evidence since the September 6 review, and it widens the case beyond Monolithic Power. Vicor's September 21 release raised third-quarter sequential revenue growth guidance from near 10% to over 20% on royalties from a new non-exclusive Vertical Power Delivery license and said four leading OEMs and hyperscalers now hold licenses; the filed June quarter shows revenue of $143.4M (+49.3% year over year), backlog of $379.7M and a 24.3% operating margin. A second raise, to over 30%, was relayed on September 30 by social posts and is not yet on a filing. The upside is royalty-led rather than module shipments (royalties were already 21.2% of June-quarter revenue), so it supports content monetisation without margin concession but does not yet show module volume; the October 20 report is the test.

Vertiv's AI Power Demand Faces an Acquisition and Delivery Test

    Evidence as of 2026-09-28

Vertiv's June quarter grew revenue 24.1% year over year to $3.27B while missing estimates, with the full-year sales outlook raised to $14B. Since the last review it has added delivery capability rather than demonstrated rack content: the $1.45B UtilityInnovation Group deal (onsite generation and behind-the-meter controls, announced September 2) and King Environmental Services (liquid-cooling commissioning, 8-K September 24, terms undisclosed, no material financial effect expected). Acquisitions must be separated from organic content when the third quarter reports.

GE Vernova: power and grid orders

    Evidence as of 2026-07-22

Grid demand is upstream context. It cannot establish commercial sockets or margins inside the rack; use supplier-specific power-conversion evidence.

    MPS: power conversion reaches customers

    Evidence as of 2026-07-30

Management describes shipped power products and contributions from networking applications. This advances commercial conversion for MPS; topology durability and other suppliers remain separate tests.
