The index took a nap and the rotation kept working. The S&P slipped 0.32% and the Nasdaq 0.34% on below-average volume — a quiet, red-tinted session at the top — while underneath, money kept moving into last quarter's wreckage: uranium (Cameco +1.46% to a fourth alarm bell, the sector fund URA +1.78% on top of a +6.31% week), defense (Kratos +22.86% on the week), and beaten enterprise software (Accenture +5.51% this week, still 38% off its high). The lanes that led last week cooled — gold barely moved (−0.39%) after its +7.16% week, and China tech was the day's worst board, down 3.3%. Oil kept climbing: +1.34% on the day, +10.22% on the week, with coverage still pointing at dwindling Iranian stockpiles and Hormuz risk as the driver. Two headlines for tomorrow: July CPI lands Wednesday morning — the wire calls it a big one for the Fed — and a breaking Kobeissi Letter item says the administration is weighing a capital-gains tax cut ahead of midterms, unconfirmed beyond that single source.
On the desk's board the split is getting stark: the names worth entering are not the names moving. The clean setups today are Eli Lilly (2.8% off its high, RSI 57 after a +8.9% week), CrowdStrike (2.2% off its high in an orderly uptrend), Nvidia ($217.50, RSI 57.8, just past its long-standing trigger), and Palo Alto (essentially at its high with RSI still under 70). Everything hotter than that is past its entry: AbCellera added another 4.5% at 2.4 times normal volume — RSI 78.7, up 60.26% on the week — and notably it bought straight through its own August 5 earnings miss, which is the tape telling you conviction in the story is overriding the quarter. Microsoft sits at RSI 77.9, 14% past its old trigger. The stretch screen tonight found 26 extended names and zero of them losing volume — momentum is stretched everywhere but nothing is quietly distributing yet, which is not what tops usually look like.
The prints: CoreWeave didn't wait for CPI
CoreWeave's Q2, per the amitisinvesting same-day recap: revenue $2.575B, up 112% year over year; adjusted EBITDA $1.51B at a 59% margin; a $104B revenue backlog; 1.5 GW of power active against 3.7 GW contracted; and more than $25B of new customer commitments already added in early Q3. Those are single-recap numbers tonight — no second wire source with the per-line actuals had landed by close — but the shape is unambiguous: the AI-cloud build-out is not decelerating. Super Micro also printed its fiscal Q4; actuals hadn't reached the wires by tonight's pull, and the substantive story that did land is a $7.0B equity and equity-linked financing to fund AI orders — dilution as a demand signal. Lumentum reported after the close with shares up 6.2% into the print; Denison's day was regulatory, not earnings — a cleared Indigenous-review overhang at Wheeler River plus new uranium sale commitments. Monster's 2-for-1 split also took effect cleanly — the stock trades in the $45 range now, down 0.42% on the day, no drama.
Watch Wednesday: July CPI before the open sets the rate tape, then Cisco, Coherent, Nebius, and Cirrus (CBRS — an open desk call sitting at four alarm bells) all report. And keep an eye on oil at $130 — the fund tracking it closed at $127.61, and a sustained move through $130 would re-arm a scenario the desk retired in July.

3. Focus List
4. Sector Scorecard
Uranium / nuclear — the day's clearest accumulation: Cameco +1.46% (fourth alarm bell tonight), URA +6.31% on the week, and the small modular names (SMR, IMSR) bouncing off deep lows. The whole cluster tops tonight's washout screen — beaten lanes turning with volume. Defense & space — Kratos +22.86% on the week and Northrop, Huntington Ingalls both turning up from pullbacks; second straight session this lane leads the washout list. Enterprise software — quietly turning: Accenture +5.51% this week, Salesforce +3.39%, both climbing out of 25–38%-off-high craters; the washout screen's most surprising cohort. Gold & miners — cooling after the vertical week: GLD −0.39% on the day, and the miners' fund is at RSI 69.7 — the desk's standing read (don't chase, wait for the first pullback that holds the 200-day) is unchanged. Big tech — mixed-to-heavy: Alphabet −3.84%, Amazon −2.09%, Apple soft, FAANG board −2.0% median; the index's nap is mostly this lane resting. Oil & energy — crude's fund +10.22% on the week and a dollar-and-change from a level ($130) that would re-arm the retired supply-shock scenario.
ETF tape · 42 funds
The desk's curated ETF read — one fund per lane it tracks, not every fund on the watchlists — grouped by what the fund is exposed to, and where each closed on the issue date. The big number and the tile's shade are that session's move (1D); 7D and 30D are the trailing windows behind it, and RSI is the 14-day reading (above 70 is stretched, below 30 washed out). Shades near flat stay gray — a ±0.25% day is not a color.

5. The Wild & Whacky
ALMR — 7.06x normal volume tonight, RSI 80, up 33% in a month — a biotech runner from the desk's own coverage list that nobody wrote a call on. Tonight's autopsy names it the week's most instructive miss. CAKE — The Cheesecake Factory at RSI 88, up 18.3% versus its 20-day, one of 26 stretched-with-volume names. When casual dining is a momentum trade, the melt-up is broad. CRSP, but not that CRSP — Morningstar announced it's buying CRSP — the University of Chicago's Center for Research in Security Prices, the index shop — for $375M. The gene-editing company with the same ticker did nothing; half the day's "CRSP" headlines were about the wrong entity. Ticker collisions remain undefeated. ARQQ — up 35.35% in a month, still 60.66% below its high. A reminder that inside a deep enough crater, a moonshot is just an echo.
6. What I'd Tell a Friend
Nothing about today asked you to do anything. The index barely moved, and the things that moved hard (AbCellera, the uranium names, Kratos) are already past the prices where entering made sense — buying them here is paying for last week. The four entries that do make sense on tonight's numbers are the boring ones: Lilly, CrowdStrike, Nvidia, Palo Alto — clean uptrends within a few percent of their highs, none of them overheated. If you're waiting on a level, the two that matter this week: oil through $130 (sustained, not a poke) re-opens the supply-shock question, and tomorrow morning's CPI print decides whether the rate tape stays friendly. Watch Wednesday's CPI first — everything else is downstream of it.

A desk call is an authored stance from a published report; entry and invalidation conditions are human-read, and the full ledger lives at /calls.
30d vs SPY is the raw name-vs-SPY move since the call — for trim/sell calls a NEGATIVE number means the call worked (the name fell after it).

𝕏— The Kobeissi Letter — memory is now the tape: NVDA, MU and SNDK are three of the four most-traded US stocks $NVDA $MU $TSLA $SNDK · link- One datapoint that shows how far the memory trade has come: Micron alone now turns over nearly as much notional as Nvidia, and SanDisk out-trades almost everything else on the tape. Crowding is the flip side — the lane's #1 risk has always been that everyone gets in.
𝕏— SemiAnalysis — TileRT compiles the whole model into one persistent GPU kernel, claiming 1.9x decode interactivity on the same Blackwell chips $NVDA · link- Software squeezing 2x more interactive inference out of the same NVIDIA silicon cuts at the core pitch of the dedicated inference-ASIC vendors (Groq, Cerebras, SambaNova) — and raises effective utilization per deployed GPU, which feeds the power-per-rack math the AI-power lane tracks.
𝕏Serenity — (aleabitoreddit) — AAOI's earnings call says China is years behind on CPO lasers, and AAOI itself is capacity-out of first-gen CPO $AAOI $SIVEF $LITE $COHR $AVGO · link- AAOI's own earnings-call language, not analyst spin: management says it is turning away CPO customers for lack of laser capacity and puts China's CPO laser gap at 2-3+ years. That's a primary-source data point on exactly the AXTI/optical-supply-chain chokepoint this desk is already tracking — points capacity scarcity…
𝕏Gaurab Chakrabarti — sulfuric acid for copper leaching has roughly doubled since February · link- A chemicals-company operator citing a real, checkable price series: US Gulf sulfuric acid (the reagent copper leach mines buy in bulk) roughly doubled from February to May and is still holding near double the pre-crisis level. A primary-source industrial-input data point for the copper cost structure, not a chart call.
𝕏Serenity — (aleabitoreddit) — White House puts real dollars behind critical-minerals names: WWR, SRL, FEAM, HREE $WWR $SRL $FEAM · link- Names dollar figures against four specific critical-minerals tickers in one White House funding round — graphite, scandium, boron and rare-earth magnets — rather than the usual vague onshoring rhetoric. HREE could not be ticker-validated this session (fetch failed) and is left untagged; worth a read for anyone trackin…
𝕏Gaetano — (crux_capital_) — the market sold off the wrong optical name: his bull case for why AXTI's China selloff is negotiating leverage, not a real ban $AXTI $AAOI $COHR $LITE · link- A specific, falsifiable bull case on why AXTI diverged from the rest of the optical complex on the same China headline: reads the drop as US negotiating leverage toward easing China's InP permit constraint rather than a real ban. Directly bears on the desk's own open question — AXTI's derate verification has sat unres…
𝕏Winston — (ChurchillWw) — a Mountain Pass-to-Fort Worth rare-earth magnet is now in an automaker's qualification process $MP · link- Traces a fully domestic mine-to-magnet chain — Mountain Pass ore into a Fort Worth press-and-sinter line — reaching an automaker qualification stage, which is MP Materials' own Mountain Pass mine and Fort Worth Independence facility by description. A concrete supply-chain milestone for the onshored rare-earth-magnet b…
𝕏IPO Newsroom — NVIDIA is putting up to $3B into the Blackstone-backed firm that owns the land under Stargate $NVDA $BX · link- A new equity stake, not a chip sale: Nvidia buying into the power-infrastructure landlord under the Stargate site (per The Information) is Nvidia moving up the AI-power stack into the land and grid layer itself. Directly on the AI-power-bottleneck thesis and not yet in today's brief.
𝕏@KobeissiLetter — The Kobeissi Letter — record 4.0M S&P 500 call volume as put/call skew posts its biggest two-day drop since 2017 $SPY $VIXY · link- The two numbers deserve different weight: the record call volume partly rides five years of options-market growth (~700K daily in 2020–21, a 2M ceiling until late 2023), but the skew collapse is pure positioning — traders paying up for upside while abandoning downside protection, and the sharpest such move since 2017,…
𝕏@patrick_oshag — Gavin Baker on Invest Like the Best — no slowdown on the ground: old GPUs repricing up, the memory war, and who funds the buildout $NVDA $MU $SNDK $SPCX · link- A 79-minute pressure-test of the AI trade from one of its most-cited public-markets bulls, recorded into the current selloff — the gap between falling stocks and accelerating fundamentals is the whole episode. It runs straight down our lanes: rising prices for old GPUs, the memory supply war, debt-vs-cashflow financin…
