AI Infrastructure Scan
AI Infrastructure Scan
This report tracks the hyperscaler, chip and foundry basket — Amazon, Nvidia, ASML, TransAlta, TSMC, Palantir, Marvell, Arm, Everpure, and the two AI/semiconductor funds — not the separate physical-buildout universe that shares a similar name. Nine of the eleven names firmed on RSI this week, one was unchanged and only Amazon declined — and every one now reads between 48 and 58 — the tightest, most uniformly healthy band this basket has carried in this stretch, with no oversold name and no overbought one. Ten of eleven sit above their 200-day average with a positive year. Arm was the week's most consequential move: it closed at $275.61, clearing the $270 level the desk had been waiting on since August. The basket also lost a member — SoftBank's US line was retired from routine coverage on September 12 as non-tradeable, which removes last cycle's headline name from the board.
LONG-HORIZON READ: a name whose short-window trend flag reads "down" but sits ABOVE its 200-day with a positive 1-year change is a deep pullback in an intact trend, never a breakdown. Only price below the 200-day paired with a weak or negative year is real structural damage.
Quick Snapshot
| Signal | Reading |
|---|---|
| Overall | 🟢 The cleanest week this basket has posted in the stretch — ten of eleven names firmed, every reading sits between RSI 48 and 58, and ten of eleven pass the long-horizon check |
| Universe note | 11 names, down from 12. SoftBank's US line left the basket on September 12, retired from routine coverage as non-tradeable for this desk; its family stays active for research. This is a coverage decision, not a price event |
| Sharpest move | PLTR — RSI 49.2→57.0 (+7.8) on a +6.22% week, 200-day cushion widening from 10.4% to 17.1%. The caution is unchanged from last cycle: its 1-year change is still essentially flat at +0.38% |
| Best structural week | P (Everpure) — RSI 51.4→57.6 (+6.2) on a +6.07% week, cushion 29.1%→36.1%, though its 30-day return is still -7.02% |
| The level that cleared | ARM closed $275.61, above the $270 line the desk had been waiting on since August; its cushion widened from 29.6% to 33.0% and its year improved from +71.16% to +88.08% |
| Caveat | Every ticker carries a fresh 2026-09-18 close. One news receipt on this board is a FAILED pull — TransAlta's last successful pull was in April, so nothing on file speaks to its recent moves |
What's Going On
This basket had a uniformly good week inside a choppy one for the wider market. Nine of the eleven names firmed on RSI, TSMC finished unchanged, and Amazon was the only decliner — it fell 0.9 of a point. The result is the tightest band this board has shown: the highest reading is Marvell at 58.0 and the lowest is Amazon at 48.0, with nothing oversold and nothing overbought. That matters more than any single name here — a basket where every member sits in the neutral-to-healthy zone is one where the next move is unlikely to be driven by mean reversion in either direction.
Arm's week is the one with a defined level behind it. The desk's September 17 brief had flagged $270 as the reclaim it had waited on since August, with the stock then at $264.90; Arm closed Friday at $275.61, 10.6% above its 20-day average, with its year improving from +71.16% to +88.08% and its 200-day cushion widening from 29.6% to 33.0%. Nvidia reversed last week's sharp cooldown, adding 4.4 RSI points to 54.2 and widening its cushion from 10.5% to 12.0% with its year improving to +26.12%; its news receipt, pulled September 17, carries a securities filing describing a definitive agreement to acquire Hugging Face, and the desk's September 17 brief records the company's chief executive saying it expects to sell twice as many chips next year across the next six quarters.
Palantir and Everpure posted the two largest RSI gains. Palantir rose 7.8 points on a 6.22% week and roughly two-thirds widening of its 200-day cushion — but the concern the desk raised for the last two cycles has not resolved: its 1-year change is +0.38%, essentially flat, which makes it the weakest long-horizon profile among this basket's intact names despite a strong week. Everpure rose 6.2 points on a 6.07% week with its cushion widening from 29.1% to 36.1%, though its 30-day return is still -7.02% — a strong week inside a weak month. Its news was last pulled September 1, so nothing on file speaks to this week's move.
Two names need their headline numbers read carefully. ASML's 1-year change stepped down sharply from +111.27% to +81.00% while its price fell only 1.16% on the week — the change is in the year-ago comparison rolling forward, not in the tape, and the stock remains 11.2% above its 200-day. TransAlta is the opposite case and the basket's only genuine weak spot: its RSI firmed 5.4 points to 49.4, the third-largest gain on the board, while its year deteriorated from -4.51% to -9.28% and it stayed 6.1% below its 200-day. An RSI gain paired with a deteriorating year is exactly the divergence the long-horizon check exists to catch. Its news pull failed and its last successful receipt is from April, so the desk has no evidence either way on what is driving it — news not pulled for these moves, which is not the same as nothing happening.
What Changed Since the 2026-09-11 Scan
- The basket shrank from 12 names to 11: SoftBank's US line was retired from routine coverage on September 12 as non-tradeable for this desk. Last cycle's headline name — the one whose surge into overbought had no sourced cause for two straight weeks — is no longer on this board.
- PLTR posted the largest RSI gain: +7.8 (49.2→57.0), 200-day cushion 10.4%→17.1%, on a +6.22% week — with its 1-year change still flat at +0.38%.
- P posted the second-largest: +6.2 (51.4→57.6), cushion 29.1%→36.1%, on a +6.07% week.
- ARM cleared $270: closed $275.61, RSI +4.3 (53.4→57.7), cushion 29.6%→33.0%, year +71.16%→+88.08%.
- NVDA reversed last cycle's sharp cooldown: RSI +4.4 (49.8→54.2), cushion 10.5%→12.0%, year +23.21%→+26.12%.
- TAC firmed on RSI while deteriorating on the year: RSI +5.4 (44.0→49.4) against a year falling from -4.51% to -9.28%; still 6.1% below its 200-day.
- ASML's headline year stepped down 30 points (+111.27%→+81.00%) on a 1.16% weekly price decline — a rolling comparison window, not fresh weakness.
- MRVL holds the basket's deepest cushion: 52.5%→54.2% above its 200-day, with a +229.04% year.
- The whole basket is now in the neutral-to-healthy band: no name below RSI 48 or above 58, against a 44.0-to-70.1 spread last cycle.
- AMZN was the only decliner: RSI -0.9 (48.9→48.0), cushion 7.1%→5.6%, year +11.67%→+9.72% — the basket's thinnest cushion after TransAlta.
How To Read The Board
RSI below 25 is capitulation. RSI 25-40 is oversold — check the trend, the death-cross flag and the long-horizon numbers before treating it as a buy. RSI 40-70 is neutral-to-healthy, above 70 is extended. "vs SMA" is distance from the 20-day average and is short-term positioning only. "1Y%" and "vs SMA200" are the long-horizon check that decides whether a trend is intact: a name below its 200-day with a weak or negative year is real weakness; a name above its 200-day with a strong year is a deep pullback even when its short-window reading looks soft. Everything here is raw screen evidence from settled prices. Where a cause is named it comes from a dated item in that name's news receipt or a dated capture; where the receipt is stale or failed the scan says so plainly.

What To Watch Next
- Whether Arm holds $270 now that it has cleared it. The stock closed $275.61 and its 20-day average sits at $249.27, so the reclaimed level and the trend support are 10% apart — a wide gap that leaves room for a retest without breaking anything.
- Whether Palantir's year finally turns. It has now spent three cycles with a strong-to-flat tape and a 1-year change hovering at zero (+1.75%, then +0.38%); the cushion is widening but the trailing year is what decides whether this is a base or a long topping pattern.
- Whether TransAlta's divergence resolves. Its RSI has now risen for two straight cycles while its year deteriorated in both — and with a failed news pull since April, the desk has no evidence to weigh against the tape. A restored receipt is the thing needed here, not another week of price.
- Whether Everpure's strong week reaches its month. A +6.07% week against a -7.02% month means the recovery has not yet retraced the drawdown; the 20-day at $98.86 is the level that decides it.
- Whether Amazon's thinning cushion (7.1% to 5.6%) keeps narrowing. It is the only name in the basket moving the wrong way on both the week and the long-horizon check, and the only intact name whose cushion has fallen for two straight cycles.
- Whether the basket's unusual uniformity — every name between RSI 48 and 58 — resolves upward together or is the calm before a dispersion event. A basket with no oversold name has no mean-reversion cushion if the complex turns.
