Nike is the day's weak point: the stock moved -3.64% to RSI 28.2 after reporting quarterly results on October 1 (the desk's earnings file records a per-share beat; a CNBC capture the same day headlines a share drop on disappointing sales). Five of eight names closed red, six of eight are below their 200-day, and seven of eight have negative trailing-year alpha; Crocs is the only name that passes, although it has moved -6.38% on the week. Tesla is the exception on the day: +4.65% with its thesis rated intact, though it remains 5.7% under its 200-day.

Numbers are the settled October 2 close for all 8 names (Friday), one week after the September 25 scan. All eight names have full 200-day and trailing-year data. Comparison baseline is the September 25 scan.

Quick Snapshot

Signal Reading
Overall 🔴 Five of eight closed red; six of eight under their 200-day; seven of eight negative on alpha; two names at RSI below 30 (BellRing, Nike)
Leaders Tesla (RSI 55), Hims & Hers (49.5, above its 200-day by 5.3%), Crocs (45.2, the only positive-alpha name)
Laggards BellRing Brands (RSI 22.9, thesis broken, -79.28% year), Nike (28.2), Lululemon (34), Starbucks (35)
The horizon check Above the 200-day: Hims (5.3%) and Crocs (10.9%). Positive alpha: Crocs only (21.99). Hims is above its line but its trailing year is -49.89%
Caveat Nike's reaction has a dated, on-file context (October 1 earnings). Starbucks, Lululemon, Domino's, Hims and BellRing moves are cause unknown beyond that; Tesla's +4.65% followed quarterly deliveries well above Wall Street's expectations (MarketWatch, October 2). News was re-pulled 2026-10-03 for Nike, Lululemon, Crocs and Tesla; the other names' receipts predate October 2, so news was not pulled for their moves. The stock-event files were checked (only Nike's October 1 earnings and Corteva's October 1 spin-off are filed), and the desk's October 1-2 article and X captures were searched by company name. Moves below with no stated cause are therefore cause unknown, not cause absent.

What's Going On

Nike's print is the dated event. The stock-event file records quarterly results reported after the close on October 1 with an earnings-per-share beat against consensus (actual 0.48 versus 0.44 estimated); a CNBC article captured the same day carries the headline that shares dropped as sales disappointed. On Friday Nike moved -3.64%, taking RSI to 28.2, 30.5% under its 200-day with a -54.58% trailing year and alpha -69.59. The read is a beat on earnings and, per the CNBC headline, a disappointment on sales, landing on an already broken chart.

BellRing Brands remains the worst name on every window: RSI 22.9, 50.9% under its 200-day, -79.28% on the trailing year, -79.46% from its high, and its thesis is rated broken. It rose 0.41% on the day, which changes nothing. Lululemon (34.8% under its line, 30-day change -21.33%) and Domino's (-15.9%, 30-day change -14.15%) are the same shape at less severe levels, and Starbucks sits 4.1% under with RSI 35.

Crocs is the one name that passes, but it is cooling: RSI 45.2 (it was 58.5 on September 25) with a 7-day change of -6.38%, still 10.9% above its 200-day and a 37% year. A pullback inside an intact trend for now. Hims & Hers is above its 200-day by 5.3% after the September 23 crash flagged in earlier scans, but its trailing year is -49.89% with alpha -64.89, so the above-the-line reading is a recovery from a large drawdown (-55.59% from its high), not an uptrend.

Tesla rose 4.65% and sits at RSI 55, still 5.7% under its 200-day with a trailing year of -15% and alpha -30.01. The desk rates its thesis intact; the chart rates it a downtrend under test. MarketWatch (October 2) reported that Tesla sold far more EVs in the quarter than Wall Street expected, and the stock rose on it.

What Changed Since Prior Scan

  • Names under their 200-day: six today (BRBR, NKE, LULU, SBUX, DPZ, TSLA); Hims and Crocs are the two above.
  • Positive alpha: one (Crocs, 21.99), unchanged.
  • RSI below 30: BellRing and Nike now; on September 25 BellRing was at 25.8 and Nike at 35.0, so Nike crossed into oversold on its earnings reaction.
  • Starbucks showed its first stabilization on September 25 (RSI 31.6, gap to the 200-day -3.7%); today RSI is 35 but the gap is -4.1%, so the repair is mixed, not confirmed.
  • Friday closed 3 green, 5 red; Tesla (4.65%) led and Nike (-3.64%) trailed.

How To Read The Board

The long layer says most of this book is broken or under test: seven of eight have negative alpha, and the four names with trailing years worse than -45% (BellRing, Nike, Lululemon, Hims) are not discount candidates. Crocs is the only name that passes the horizon check.

The cultural-thesis idea is a consumer-behavior frame rather than a valuation screen; here the tape says the frame is mostly not working on the price side. Low RSI in Nike or BellRing is damage; Starbucks is the one pullback-shaped name (alpha -5.79, trailing year 9.21%).

Source limits: price and RSI against moving averages and the desk's thesis rating (BellRing broken, Tesla intact); no revenue, comparable-sales or estimate data except Nike's earnings file.
