1. The Read

The forced seller got a name today, and the tape turned on the news. Citadel bought the bulk of Situational Awareness's public book, per the Wall Street Journal — Millennium underbid, the price went undisclosed, and the fund kept its Anthropic stake and roughly $10 billion in remaining assets. The moment the biggest forced seller in the AI complex was confirmed done, the names it had been dumping printed their biggest up-day of the entire five-week rout: SanDisk +26%, Nebius +27%, CoreWeave +22%, Micron +18%, SK Hynix's US line +18%, and the Korea ETF +12% as Seoul's margin cascade unwound. Adobe — the squeezed short leg — gave back 6% the same session. Both sides of the crowded barbell reversing together the day the forced flow ended is liquidation mechanics confirming itself. It is also exactly one green bar after a 40% drawdown: a bounce, not a base, and the entry discipline on these names doesn't change on day one.

The rest of the tape agreed the stress is easing: SPY +1.7%, QQQ +3.3%, volatility down hard enough that the desk's risk gauges stepped back to normal, and the defensive gold-over-silver posture unwound. Microsoft was the day's other headline — +15.5% to $451 on a beat-across-every-line quarter, which pushed it through the $442 entry trigger on the standing turn-screens call — now the name with the most signals lined up behind it of any open call — while Meta went the other way, breaking through the $563 invalidation floor at $539 after its revenue-beat, profit-miss print. One call entered its zone, one call died, both on earnings, both recorded. On the wider board the discipline read stays boring on purpose: the real breakouts are at highs, not in the wreckage — Snowflake, Coca-Cola, and Cloudflare pressing 52-week highs, CME pulling back toward its zone — and the quantum small-cap basket stays vetoed as lottery paper.

After tonight's close the week's two biggest prints landed: Amazon beat enormously on the quarter ($5.75 EPS against a $1.81 estimate, revenue $200.6B) but guided third-quarter revenue below consensus, and Apple slid about 6% in late trading on a soft forecast despite strong iPhone demand — after-hours indications, not settled prices, and tomorrow's open gets the real vote.

Watch Friday: whether the memory-cohort bounce holds its gap or gives it back — follow-through is the difference between seller-exhaustion and a one-bar wonder — plus the open's verdict on Apple and Amazon, and next Wednesday's SanDisk and Western Digital prints as the first earnings test of the post-unwind tape.

3. Focus List

The board splits three ways tonight: a handful of real uptrends that have nothing to do with the AI complex (AAPL, NET, ARGX, ILMN, with NTR trending up quietly behind them), a memory cohort that just printed its bounce inside intact damage, and the quantum basket, still vetoed. One overbought name on the whole list, and it earned it with a quarter.

SparkTake
MSFT Reported 07-29 · captured $451.10 72 +14.7% +18.2% +20.9% up The print did in one session what the setup wanted a base to do: +15.5% to $451, through the $442 reclaim line, on a beat across every line. RSI 72 on day one is an event, not an entry — and one gap doesn't repair the death cross still sitting under the chart. Let it hold the line for more than a day.
TSLA $308.85 31 -16.1% -3.4% -26.6% strong-down The list's structural loser: collapse regime, RSI 31, −27% on the month while the rest of mega-cap traded earnings. The death cross the April 10 issue confirmed has aged into something worse; nothing tonight touched it.
NVDA $195.04 43 -3.9% -6.6% -2.5% weak-down Still the shallowest damage in the complex (−2.5% on the month against an ETF down double digits), but sitting under both its 20- and 50-day. The repair signal for the whole complex is the general reclaiming the 50-day (~$207), and it hasn't fired.
AAPL Reported 07-30 · captured $333.43 62 +2.8% +3.7% +15.2% strong-up The month's quiet winner: +15%, strong-up, the cleanest big-cap chart on the list — then a soft forecast took back 6% after hours. After-hours is an indication, not a price; tomorrow's open votes.
GOOGL $333.66 42 -4.2% +5.0% -6.6% weak-down The July 22 capex read keeps extending: cloud accelerated and the stock got sold on the spend guide anyway. Pullback at RSI 42, below both short averages — the rotation bellwether is still telling everyone this market prices capex, not growth.
AMZN Reported 07-30 · captured $235.50 44 -2.9% +0.8% -1.2% weak-down Flat into the print (RSI 44, pullback), then an enormous beat after hours — $5.75 against a $1.81 estimate — with a below-consensus revenue guide stapled to it. Same test as Alphabet: does the open pay for growth, or charge for capex?
NET Reported 07-30 · captured $283.39 65 +5.5% +8.0% +15.5% strong-up From the April issue's SaaS-capitulation exhibit to pressing a 52-week high in fifteen weeks. Strong-up at RSI 65 inside the Cloud SaaS inflow — extended enough that holding is the job, not adding.
ARM Reported 07-29 · captured $241.54 38 -14.3% -14.7% -31.9% weak-down A record print (revenue $1.49B, data-center royalties doubled) into a −32% month, and a +7% day still leaves it at $242, well under the pre-registered $270 recovery line. Reclaim and hold that line, or the derate is regime, not scare.
NTR $70.72 64 +5.0% +3.2% +12.3% strong-up The list's stealth strength: +12.3% on the month, RSI 64, strong-up, and it did it without a single headline. Quiet accumulation shapes like this are what the loud half of the board wishes it had.
MU $874.66 47 -4.9% -11.7% -24.2% weak-down +18% on reversal day and still −24% on the month; both facts are the point. Friday's reversal-bar rule does the thinking — above $904 confirms, below $804 voids — and tonight's $875 close sits in between: no opinion required yet. The cycle case (HBM booked through 2027) didn't change; the tape just stopped disagreeing for a day.
SNDK $1279.96 42 -16.7% -20.5% -43.7% weak-down Down 44% on the month and up 26% on the day, simultaneously — the whole five-week unwind in one row. Next Wednesday's print is the first evidence on whether the +69% NAND margin was a baseline or the peak.
OUST $35.53 45 -10.3% -5.7% -43.2% weak-down A +14% bounce day inside a −43% month, still under its 20- and 50-day. Beta to the physical-AI unwind, not yet a setup.
IONQ $35.77 40 -7.2% +5.0% -32.8% down The basket's most liquid name and still a collapse regime, −33% on the month. The quantum veto isn't a judgment on the physics; it's the tape saying lottery paper.
RGTI $14.86 44 -4.1% +0.1% -23.1% strong-down Strong-down, flat week, −23% month. Vetoed with the basket.
QBTS $16.21 38 -12.9% -5.2% -32.4% strong-down Same shape, deeper: −32% on the month. Vetoed.
QUBT $8.02 46 -2.1% +2.0% -17.3% strong-down A +2% week changes nothing inside a −17% month and a strong-down trend. Vetoed.
INFQ $9.98 45 -2.8% +3.0% -25.1% neutral Too young to trend-read and −25% on the month; no basis for a take yet, which is itself the take.
XNDU $11.02 46 +2.1% +2.5% -9.0% neutral Also too young; −9% is the basket's shallowest damage, and there's still no structure to read.
HQ $12.56 37 -32.9% -8.6% -54.8% neutral Too young and −55% on the month, the basket's worst row. Untouchable.
ARQQ $17.71 47 -4.4% -3.5% -40.4% strong-down Strong-down, −40.4% on the month. Vetoed.
LAES $2.36 36 -10.2% -8.2% -25.1% strong-down Strong-down, −25% on the month, RSI 36. Vetoed.
PL $20.22 31 -16.6% -9.6% -39.0% down RSI 31, −39% on the month, and tonight's $20.22 close sits under the $21 floor the standing call named as its invalidation — the watch is flagged, and "untouchable while the knife falls" remains the whole take.
ARGX $872.58 49 -1.6% -5.6% -6.0% strong-up A −6% pullback week that landed exactly on its 50-day, with the uptrend intact underneath. Damage would look different; this looks like a rest.
ILMN Reported 07-30 · captured $205.09 68 +7.0% +4.2% +16.6% strong-up +16.6% on the month at RSI 68, strong-up. Extended enough that the next look wants a flag, not a chase.

4. Sector Scorecard

Twenty-four lanes in inflow, twenty-nine in outflow, four emerging — and on reversal day nearly everything below the line bounced without changing which side of the line it lives on. Assessments below for the lanes that moved the story; the metrics carry the rest.

FundsAssessment
China Tech 44–76 inflow +16.3% KWEBFXI The board's top inflow (+16 RS) with zero strong-up names inside it: money arriving before trend confirms. The ETFs carry the flow for now.
Trace Iran War Second And Third Orde n/a inflow +14.5%
Cloud SAAS 50–74 inflow +13.2% WCLDCLOUSKYY The refuge Monday's flagship named, now confirmed: 44% of the lane strong-up, Snowflake crossed into overbought, Workday +37% against its AI basket. And the leader already cooled — OKTA from RSI 78 to 55 while holding its 50-day, the orderly pullback the pass asked for.
Government Compute 43–61 inflow +11.0%
Volume Setups 40–63 inflow +10.2% USO
Lazarus 40–74 inflow +9.6%
Canadian OG 45–61 inflow +9.2%

Alt Managers 43–63 inflow +8.4%
Cloud ETFS 55–63 inflow +8.3% WCLDIGVCLOU
Financials 36–72 inflow +8.1% Monday's new leadership, still extending (+8 RS). Nothing tonight challenged it.
Crypto 35–57 inflow +7.9% IBITGBTC A quiet +8 RS inflow while the AI complex healed. Nothing loud — which, for this lane, is the notable part.
Consumer Staples 43–66 inflow +7.7%
Geopolitical 33–70 inflow +7.6% USOGLDSLV

Bargain Bin 31–72 inflow +4.6%
Defensive 43–64 inflow +4.2%
Travel Leisure 43–65 inflow +4.2% JETS Same emerging signature as the airlines, with two-thirds of the lane participating. Young enough that the first red week is the test.
Chemicals 42–58 inflow +4.1%
Biotech Capital Cycle 21–76 inflow +3.5% XBI Alnylam's −28% print day is single-name earnings risk, not a lane story. An RSI range of 21–76 means the lane holds capitulation and euphoria at the same time.

AI Infra 38–52 outflow -12.4% SMH
Energy 36–62 outflow -13.2%
EV Clean Energy 31–66 outflow -13.3% LITTANICLN
AI Infrastructure 26–61 outflow -13.8% SMH
Nuclear Fuel Cycle 38–54 outflow -14.7% URA CCJ washed out at RSI 30 last week; tonight's $88 close keeps the $84 shelf intact. The lane sits at −15 RS: thesis intact, tape not yet.
Robotics 23–68 outflow -14.9% BOTZROBO
Nearline Storage 35–52 outflow -18.5% DISK The cleanest fundamental story on the board (nearline margins compounding at both Seagate and Western Digital) trading at −18 RS. Thesis ahead of tape — which is where watchlist entries come from.
Humanoid Robotics 35–58 outflow -19.1% BOTZ
Spacex S1 Supply Chain 25–56 outflow -21.1% ARKX
Semis 31–51 outflow -22.3% SMHSOXX The squeeze cut both ways: the double-inverse fund fell 26% on the bounce, which is what a crowded short side looks like unwinding. Still deep outflow; the complex repair signal remains NVDA's 50-day.
Grid Buildout 29–55 outflow -22.3%
Supply Chain Traces 34–55 outflow -28.8%
AI Power 25–75 outflow -29.6% WGMI The unwind's most-levered lane bounced hardest — IREN +30%, CIFR +28% — and still sits at −30 RS. That's beta, not thesis.
Quantum Computing 36–47 outflow -30.1% CQTMQTUMWQTM −30 RS and the veto unchanged. Nothing to re-litigate on a bounce day.
CPU Shortage Supply Chain 34–47 outflow -32.4% SMH
Optical Supply Chain 22–54 outflow -33.4% LAZR Among the deepest outflows on the board (−33 RS), and tonight's bounce barely reached it. Tracked photonics coverage argues the physical buildout hasn't stopped; the tape doesn't agree yet.
Memory 36–50 outflow -33.7% DRAMDISK The reversal-day lane: the biggest one-day repair of the rout, on the day the forced seller got a name — and still −34% RS on the month. One green bar after a 40% drawdown is a bounce; Friday's follow-through and next week's prints decide whether it becomes a base.
Space 31–52 outflow -34.1% ARKX
WFE Test Metrology 34–51 outflow -37.9% Worst RS on the board (−38) while its companies beat: Lam beat on both lines and Teradyne gapped higher on its report. Prints better than the tape is how bottoms start; this one hasn't started.

The desk's assessments cover 16 of 68 lanes.

5. The Wild & Whacky

  • SOXS fell 26.3% in one day — on the tape's best session in five weeks, the biggest casualty was the bet against it. The double-inverse semis fund is still up 66% on the month; both halves of that sentence are true at once.
  • Samsung printed an operating profit up 1,814% year over year — ₩89.5 trillion, roughly $62 billion, an eighteen-fold surge. Numbers that size usually belong to sovereigns.
  • SNDK was down 44% on the month and up 26% on the day simultaneously — the entire five-week unwind compressed into a single focus-board row.
  • CROX topped the convergence board, then fell 7.4% two sessions later. Four scans, four bullish reads as of Monday — the most-agreed-on chart in the universe. The April 10 issue crowned the ugly-shoe brand "peak absurdity"; it keeps earning the title in both directions.
  • ALNY went from neutral to deep oversold in one session — RSI 50.3 → 23.4 on a −28% earnings day. The crossings board usually records drifts; that one is a cliff.
  • TEVA jumped 9.6% on 3.5× average volume in the quietest corner of the geopolitical complex — the Iran second-order lane's sleepiest name suddenly wasn't.
  • GEV rose 9% straight into its $960–$1,010 entry zone while the standing call still wants a 20-day reclaim it hasn't produced. The tape offered the zone and withheld the signal in the same bar.
  • VRT filed its 10-Q and fell 17.3% on 4.4× volume — in a week when everything else fell on positioning, the one name that fell on disclosure. The filing is worth the read.

6. What I'd Tell a Friend

The forced seller has a name now, and that matters — a confirmed end to forced supply is real information. But the removal of a seller is not the arrival of buyers, and one green bar after a 40% drawdown is a bounce until the follow-through says otherwise. The discipline tonight is the same as yesterday: entries live at levels, not in relief.

  1. STX at $852 — closed above the $809 line the reversal-watch named, the only accumulation-shaped tape in the complex before the squeeze even started, and flagged in-zone on the desk-call ledger. The cleanest un-hyped story here: nearline margins compounding four straight quarters.
  2. MU at $875 — the reversal-bar rule does the thinking: above $904 confirms, below $804 voids, and in between requires nothing from you. The cycle case is unchanged.
  3. NBIS at $188 — a +27% day that still left it under the $217 reclaim line the buy call named. The reclaim is the entry; the gap is just the crowd.
  4. MSFT at $451 — through its $442 trigger by way of a +15% earnings gap. The call wanted a base at the line, not a leap over it; a few sessions holding above $442 turns the gap into the base.
  5. The lanes over the names — Cloud SaaS and financials are the confirmed rotation, travel and airlines the emerging one, and the leaders inside them keep proving that pullbacks beat chases: OKTA cooled 23 RSI points and held its 50-day while nobody was watching.

Watch one thing Friday: whether memory holds the gap. Follow-through turns seller-exhaustion into the start of a base; a give-back files today under one-bar wonders. The Apple and Amazon opens are the same referendum in mega-cap form — after-hours moves are opinions; opens are votes.
