The security and data software names that closed October 9 above RSI 70 gave back 11% to 19% in a week — Okta (down 19.33%, RSI 41.5 from 76.5), Palo Alto, CrowdStrike, Datadog, Fortinet, Zscaler and Palantir — and AI hardware fell harder: Super Micro down 24.44%, Credo down 21.63%, Arm down 14.45%, Intel down 14.18%. Only nine of 42 names rose and one reading is left above RSI 70 (Veeva, 71.2). The five insider buyers (the same five in the October 9 and October 16 reports) fell 2% to 14%; Intel (RSI 31.4) and TSMC (34.2) now sit at the edge of oversold, still above their 200-day averages.

Prices and technicals are the settled Friday, October 16 close from the price summaries (all 42 rows carry that date). Insider dollar figures for the five buyers are from the October 16 Form 4 net-flow report (net dollars only).

Quick Snapshot

Signal Reading
Overall 🟡 Broad washout in security software and AI hardware; most charts still above their 200-day; application software and Tesla are the weak spots
Insider buying on this list (October 16 report) TSLA +$221.0M, CRSP +$25.9M, ASAN +$4.3M, INTC +$2.4M, TSM +$1.5M
Leaders (one year) MRVL (158.22%), INTC (143.89%), AMD (125.42%), OKTA (113.5%, 58% vs its 200-day), FTNT (103.43%)
Laggards (one year) IONQ (-52.31%), INTU (-49.74%, thesis flagged broken), HUBS (-46.63%), SMCI (-41.25%), CEG (-31.56%)
Extended (RSI 70+) VEEV (71.2) only — five names on October 9
Below 200-day (12) IONQ (-27.1%), INTU (-13.4%), AVGO (-10.7%), TSLA (-8.6%), CRSP (-7.3%), CRDO (-5.8%), CEG (-4.5%), ADBE (-3.5%), HUBS (-3%), SMCI (-2.6%), MDB (-0.6%), GOOGL (-0.1%)
Caveat Insider dollars cover only the five buyers. A name under RSI 40 with a positive year above its 200-day is a pullback, not a signal
Key insight Insider buyers are still not in the hot names — and there are no hot names left. The buyer list now looks like the rest of the board: pullbacks in intact trends (Intel, TSMC), plus Tesla and CRISPR under their 200-days

What's Going On

Security and data software gave back the whole run. Okta closed $187.26, down 19.33% (Friday down 10.2%, volume 2.07 times average), RSI 41.5, 10.9% under its 20-day and still 58% above its 200-day — down from 101.1% above it on October 9. Palo Alto (down 18.33%), Cloudflare (down 17.91%), CrowdStrike (down 17.32%), Snowflake (down 16.82%), Datadog (down 15.74%), Fortinet (down 13.16%), Zscaler (down 11.27%) and Palantir (down 11.01%) all fell with RSI now between 35.9 and 51.4; every one remains 22% to 42% above its 200-day, which makes this a pullback inside intact trends. Cause not checked.

AI hardware fell harder. Super Micro closed $31.63 (down 24.44%, RSI 30.2), 2.6% under its 200-day with a one-year loss of 41.25%. Credo (down 21.63%) is 5.8% under its 200-day; Arista (down 18.34%, RSI 31.6) is 8.8% above its 200-day; Marvell (down 17.24%), Arm (down 14.45%, 1.9% above its 200-day), Intel and AMD (down 13.05%, 34.1% above its 200-day) follow. TSMC (down 8.98%), ASML (down 7.8%) and Nvidia (down 6.61%, RSI 37.5, 5.5% above its 200-day) fell less. Broadcom (down 9.07%) is 10.7% under its 200-day with a one-year loss of 7.17%. Bloom Energy (down 21.1%) and IonQ (down 21.58%, 27.1% under its 200-day) fell with them. Cause not checked.

The insider buyers (October 16 report). Tesla (+$221.0M) closed $354.72, down 7.31%, 8.6% under its 200-day ($387.99; it was 2% under on October 9) with a one-year loss of 17.27%. CRISPR (+$25.9M) is 7.3% under its 200-day. Intel (+$2.4M) closed $89.85 at RSI 31.4 with a one-year gain of 143.89%; TSMC (+$1.5M) is 4.4% above its 200-day with a one-year gain of 37.61%. Asana (+$4.3M) held most of last week's bounce (down 2.09%, 20.5% above its 200-day).

Application software and mega-caps held. INTU rose 7.4% to RSI 60.9 but is still 13.4% under its 200-day with a one-year loss of 49.74% and a broken-thesis flag. Salesforce (up 5.05%), Veeva (up 4.81%, RSI 71.2, the only name above 70), Workday (up 2.26%) and Apple (up 2.03%, RSI 62.1) rose; Microsoft (down 1.13%) barely moved; Alphabet (down 3.15%) closed 0.1% under its 200-day.

What Changed Since Prior Scan (2026-10-09 → 2026-10-16)

  • RSI 70+ group shrank from 5 to 1. OKTA, PLTR, DDOG, ZS, FTNT all cooled; only VEEV (71.2) remains
  • Oversold band went from empty to 19 names. October 9 lows were INTC 43.4, ARM 43.9, IONQ 44.0; now SMCI (30.2) is the lowest
  • OKTA's cushion over its 200-day fell from 101.1% to 58%. RSI 76.5 to 41.5
  • Four names lost their 200-days — GOOGL, MDB, SMCI, CRDO. Each was above it on October 9
  • Buyer charts weakened. TSLA 2% to 8.6% under; CRSP from on the line to 7.3% under; INTC RSI 43.4 to 31.4; TSM 52.4 to 34.2
  • IONQ extended below its 200-day. From 7.8% under to 27.1% under
  • INTU bounced but stays broken. Rose 7.4%; still 13.4% under its 200-day
  • Insider dollars. Same five buyers. CRSP +$26.6M to +$25.9M, ASAN +$4.5M to +$4.3M; TSLA, INTC and TSM unchanged

How To Read The Board

This is a technology and growth universe screened for insider interest. Price, momentum and return figures are raw screen evidence from the price summaries; insider dollars appear only for the five buyers and come from the October 16 report. A strong chart plus insider buying is the best case; a weak chart plus buying is a research prompt, not a signal.

Stock Entry Zone Thesis
INTC Current $89.85; 200-day $84.56, 50-day $103.17 Net insider buyer; one-year gain 143.89%; holding the 200-day keeps this a flag

TSLA Current $354.72; 200-day $387.99 Net insider buyer, under the 200-day on a negative year; reclaim is the condition
ARM Current $227.8; 200-day $223.44, 50-day $267.88 Cushion over the 200-day is 1.9%; its loss would turn the pullback

What To Watch Next

  • A golden signal. Intel (RSI 31.4) and TSMC (34.2) are the buyer names closest to the oversold line and both still show net buying; an RSI under 30 on either would make one.
  • Intel's 200-day ($84.56) and TSMC's ($395.05). A close under either breaks a buyer-backed trend.
  • Tesla's 200-day ($387.99). The gap widened to 8.6% this week.
  • Do the security names hold their 200-days? PANW $260.68, CRWD $160.56, DDOG $191.61.
  • SMCI's 200-day ($32.47). It closed $31.63 at RSI 30.2.
  • Does the 70+ group come back? VEEV is the only reading above 70; the rest of the list needs a week of closes above 20-days first.
